Smooth and sleek forms create minimal masterpieces such as Lightyears’ Concert P3, while different materials combine to create layers of postmodern color and texture as demonstrated on Jonah Takagi’s Silk Road lamp for Roll and Hill.

Apollo Lamp by International Studio: The layered shades of  International Studio‘s modular Apollo lamp all have a varying number of perforations. The shades can be layered in a number of different configurations to create different intensities of light.

Concert P3 by JÑ—rn Utzon for Lightyears: The organic Concert P3 design by JÑ—rn Utzon for Lightyears is made up of four different glass shades. Ambient room lighting shines out downwards and upwards from between the shades .
