Freedom Task Chair by Humanscale Delivers What it Promises

The Freedom Task Chair isn't called Freedom for nothing. Humanscale has added lots of features, so that users can customize their chair to their own bodies-in ways that many other task chairs neglect. For example, the Freedom Task Chair has adjustable arms. That in itself is not odd for a high-end work chair, but Freedom has synchronous armrests, which means they move in tandem, so that you'll never be off kilter (and they've got body-friendly gel). Don't want them? No problem. You can move Freedom's armrests below thigh level, in case you've got "close table or desk work." The chair also fits your individual body, no matter how peculiar your proportions: seat, backrest, and headrest move independently. The chair accommodates over 95% of the population: it's got more than 5" vertical adjustability on the headrest and seat height; 2.25" adjustability on the seat depth; and a 3" range on the lumbar support. One of the best features may be the self-adjusting recline, which, among other things, allows the user to maintain eye level.

Ergonomic & Adjustable Task Chair

Already the winner of 10 design awards, the Freedom Task Chair is the design of Niels Diffrient, who believes "in the philosophy that form follows function." Diffrient likes to look "past trends to reinvent the tools we use for daily living." This practicality translates into lots of choices. Humanscale wants all people to enjoy their very own Freedom Chair. I like the available foot ring with chrome finish and height-adjustability. I also like the squiggle upholstery in tangerine. What you prefer is surely different, which is why you've got a panoply of colors and textiles to choose from-anything from rhubarb leather to carmine stripes (vertical or horizontal).
