Fireplace and TV Side by Side: MCZ’s Scenario

I’m beginning to suspect that Italian manufacturer MCZ (pronounced “em,” “cee,” “zed”) knows a bit too much about the goings-on at my house. That’s because the dilemma addressed by their new Scenario combination fireplace/TV unit is a familiar one in my domestic environ. The house is laid out such that—whichever way you turn—you’re greeted with a limited amount of wall space vis a vis the available floor space. This makes the negotiation between TV and fireplace a difficult one, since there’s not enough space to safely place both on one wall. Alas, we too often choose TV in lieu of pulling up close to the fire with a good book. Would we had the advantage of MCZ’s Scenario, a dual unit that houses both within the mere confines of some seven by three feet.

A Perfect Scenario for Warmth and Entertainment

Beyond the amiable incorporation of a 37” LCD TV, Scenario features all the perks of MCZ’s other fire units. You can choose between wood burning or gas, and the piece incorporates MCZ’s patented comfort air ducting system. This thermal innovation effectively turns these showpiece fireboxes into bonafide heating systems, as it ducts hot air throughout the house (up to eight meters from the fireplace location). Scenario thus belongs to the growing cadre of heating technology that not only distributes heat in better ways, but looks good doing it too (see Milano by Tubes Radiatori and Skema). This is fine company, indeed, but even among these compatriots in innovation Scenario represents a particularly novel solution to a common interior conundrum.

About the Manufacturer: MCZ is mostly known for the wonders they work with indoor fireplaces, but they also know a thing or two about outdoor cooking. Their Sunday brand of patio appliances is a nice compliment to the sound reputation they have for innovative solutions and inventive designs. Their fireplace line includes wood and gas burning appliances as well as pellet stoves. The aesthetic versatility of their product line is legion, boasting some 50 different claddings among more than 100 different styles.
