Create a Fairytale ‘Bookending’ with Steel Bookends by Signs for Homes

A few weeks back we diverted slightly from the architectural and interior product norm by adding the great Heath Ceramics house numbers to our line-up for a little eye candy. Today, since it’s the end of the week and we’re all about pushing the limits here at 3rings, we bring you the latest Bookendings Bookends from Signs for Homes out of the UK to give your visual senses a splash of color.

Modern Steel Bookends in Bright Shades Make up the Collection of ‘Bookendings’ by Viviane Goodwin for her UK-based company, Signs for Homes

In a glossy finish (no pun intended), these steel bookends are designed by Viviane after famous finales to films and books. Entitled “Bookendings”, the simple bookends – measuring 13 cm W x 17 cm H – are cut and designed with steel that are built to help organize our best reads without relying on the ever-traditional brown or weighted metals. The Signs for Homes already stellar line-up of colorful wording for signs in different typefaces accompanies the bookish release, most which draw on the vintage aesthetic that designer Viviane Goodwin is known for.

“A designer I have long been fascinated with different fonts and typography – it borders on an obsesssion!” begins Viviane, who not only designs the signs, but is the founder of her Signs for Homes company that has all of her designs created out of a barn in Suffolk, to keep production in the UK. “Our signs are influenced by our love of art, our travels and living in London,” she continues, “All our metal signs (like the Bookendings, for instance) are manufactured from commercial grade steel, precision cut – and every sign is lovingly polished by hand.”

Unsurpassed by mass-produced alternatives, the detail and use of saturated colors used by Goodwin in her novel design of “Bookendings” tie up the loose ends.
