Refracted patterns made up of intersecting geometric shapes adorn this year’s most dazzling upholstery designs.

Razzle Dazzle by Sylvain Willenz for Febrik

Named after the camouflage painting technique that inspired its complex pattern of intersecting lines, Razzle Dazzle is a stretchy fabric designed by Belgian designer Sylvain Willenz for new Dutch fabric brand Febrik. The design is available in three variations: two-tone contrast, m©lange and plain colour each of which imbues a distinctive effect.

Flexagon from the Form and Structure collection by Teknion

Launched earlier this year, Form + Structure is a collection of architecturally-inspired fabric designs by Suzanne Tick for Toronto-based Teknion Textiles. Shown above, the ‘Flexagon’ pattern’s abrupt angles and interrupted planes are designed to evoke the work of innovative contemporary architects such as Zaha Hadid.

Originally designed in 1965 and now produced by Maharam, Alexander Girard’s optical Checker Split fabric features black-and-white triangles dazzlingly intertwined with black and white squares.
