Architect Daniel Libeskind created a limited edition rug collection for luxury Italian brand Loloey, taking his fractal geometric shapes from three dimension to two-and the result is striking.

Based on "disorder and arbitrariness" that unveils a paradoxical logic beneath a structure "foreshadowed in the seductive depths of chaos," the Daniel Libeskind Collection is arresting from all angles.

Like his buildings (some of my favorites include his extension to the Denver Art Museum and The Ascent at Roebling’s Bridge in Covington, Kentucky), the limited edition rugs for Loloey take inspiration from fractal geometry, with lines and angles traveling in all directions.

The rugs offer clean lines in random patterns, at one glance seeming to reveal order. But their interest lies beneath that superficial organization-because the patterns are disarmingly irregular.

In black and white, blues and reds, the Daniel Libeskind Collection is beautiful to behold-and to touch. Made of 100% bamboo silk, the area rugs have a sensual texture as well. Two rugs are based on Libeskind's Micromegas drawing series.
