Shadow by Bentu Design

Each year, tons of concrete waste go into Chinese landfills. In a move to help relieve the country's ever expanding landfills, Bentu Design, a product design and innovation company based in Guangzhou, has been incorporating concrete refuse into its products, which include wall tiles, pendant lights, and side tables.

For Shadow, its collection of 3-D decorative geometric wall tiles, Bentu Design used reclaimed concrete and ceramic waste to create cost-effective products that make an impression while also alleviating human impact on the planet.

Last month Shadow caught the eye of judges, who awarded Bentu Design the prestigious 2017 Red Dot Design Best of the Best Award in the "Materials and Surfaces" category during a ceremony in Germany.
