Porthole Bar by RH Contract

Bar design is on the rise in the new millennium, as illustrated by the Porthole Bar from RH Contract, winner of a Hospitality Design Award in the Casegoods and Furniture Category.

Inspired by a 1920s industrial sphere, the Porthole Bar combines pipework, glass, metal, and mirror to dramatic effect. The style might be called glamorized steampunk, as the bar seamlessly marries industry and opulence.

At home in luxury staterooms and oceanfront suites, the Porthole Bar is nautical-themed Old Hollywood. One suspects that Lauren Bacall will walk up to it in a French sailor’s shirt and serve herself a Scotch Mist.
