Nemschoff Ava Recliner Offers Optimal Comfort and AccessibilityJune 06, 2016
As the continuum of care shifts in today’s healthcare market from standard, traditional methods to a user-centered, retail approach, furniture and fixtures for the wellness environment must also evolve. Acknowledging this transition, Herman Miller subsidiary Nemschoff employs 360-degree, user-focused engineering for the new Ava recliner.
The Ava recliner provides infinite back adjustments, easy-to-use controls, and reverse recline for both patient comfort and easy accessibility for caregivers. Designed by David Rich and Mark Saffell of Venice, California’s 5d Studio, Nemschoff offers the recliner in an arcade or wingback design.
Highlights include pivoting arms, which grant leverage to caregivers, and dual-arm controls that allow simple recline function for diversely abled users. The Ava is affixed to closed casters for cleaning ease, as well as optimal mobility with clear visual cues for braking and steering.
