Choi's Basel exhibit "offers an experience of entering a landscape or place for meditation." Visitors enter a Zen-like space meant to elicit meditation and transcendence. The presentation affects those moving within the space on sensory and emotional levels.

Choi's chosen works are cut from single pieces of Basalt. Massive and monolithic, the pieces offer all types of surfaces, from polished and smooth to raw and rough. Organic and sensuous, Choi's sculptural works allude to "the gestural brushstrokes of traditional ink painting and the ancient Dolmens of his native Korea." The contrast of lightness and mass, as well as organic and manmade forms, informs Choi's oeuvre.
