Elodie's process-oriented approach has resulted in a thoughtful and elegant textile collection that received a coveted Best of NeoCon Gold Award in the "Textiles: Upholstery" category last year

Each unique piece showcases her ability to take everyday objects-an heirloom quilt, a utilitarian moving blanket, a favorite pair of pants-and transform them into extraordinary textiles with diverse design applications. Blanchard's designs are produced using HBF Textiles' meticulous attention to detail and deep-rooted expertise to create a collection that is inventive, sumptuous, and at home in any interior space.

Blanchard’s collection for HBF Textiles includes Foundation, Twist, Moving Blanket, Remember Houndstooth, and Forge and Dot Structure (pictured top), which are certified Sunbrella Contract indoor/outdoor fabrics.

HBF Textiles-Foundation
Foundation

Foundation: A subtle grid of boucle rayon threads discreetly pops out, evoking a feeling of a distressed velvet rug that grows increasingly beautiful with time.

Foundation features a palette of earthy, sophisticated hues that create tantalizing, natural texture. The depth of this solution-dyed, recycled-polyester, ring-spun chenille gives Foundation a sumptuous tactile quality, as well as its bleach-cleanable properties.

HBF Textiles-Twist
Twist

Twist: A soft, comfortable fabric reminiscent of a favorite old, tried-and-true sweater you would never part with, is at once both elegant and nubby. Twist upholsters beautifully and features pigments ranging from complex neutral tweeds to vibrant, fresh hues. This textural combination includes acrylic/cotton for wool-like bulk, linen for fine texture and polyester for a twist of strength.

Moving Blanket
Moving Blanket

Moving Blanket: Inspired by the simplicity of its name - a moving blanket. Designed with a chevron pattern using a matelass© structure to enhance its padded construction, this elegant reinterpretation of a classic material features both thick- and thin-stitched lines of artist Sol Lewitt's drawings and focus on contrasts. Hues within the Moving Blanket range from vibrant brights to globally inspired tones.

Houndstooth
Houndstooth

Remember Houndstooth: A pull-out design from Blanchard's Remember fabric, is enlarged 200 percent to create an all-over, large-scale, classic black-and-white houndstooth. It can stand alone or work in coordination with Remember. Additional colors are available with a minimum special order of 200 yards per color. Remember Houndstooth also comes standard with a Nano-Tex stain-resistant performance finish.

HBF Textiles-Forge
Forge

Forge: Imagined as a metal-mesh furniture covering, Forge mimics the high-tech fabrics that Elodie uses in her fiber installations. Forge's colorations reflect metallic hues - gold, pewter, platinum, copper, silver, nickel and steel. This Sunbrella-certified performance fabric features vinyl-coated yarns, which are suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.

About the designer: French designer Elodie Blanchard began designing clothes and organizing fashion shows in her teens, before moving to Paris to study sculpture at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts and fashion at the Duperre School of Design and Fashion. She won the young designer prize at the International Fashion Arts Festival of Hyeres, which gave her the opportunity to sell her eponymous clothing line at the famed French La Redoute store. As recipient of the Colin-Lefrancq grant, she studied at CalArts in Los Angeles where she collaborated with musicians and dancers creating musical clothes and street performances. This intimate knowledge of material and fabrication led her to start her own Brooklyn company ELODIE BLANCHARD STUDIO (formerly elsaticCo) in 2005, through which she produces her own projects and custom textile installations and designs for clients.
