Tokyo Tribal is a collection of compact furniture designed by Nendo for Industry+

Featuring 22 simple and compact items including stools, chairs, tables, and shelves, the collection is designed with small, urban living spaces in mind.tokyo_tribal_collection01_akihiro_yoshida

The frames are made from solid oak and the top board finishes are volcanic sand plaster. Bamboo rattan that is hand-woven by local artisans in the Philippines is used to create back-supports, which take advantage of the bamboo’s excellent elastic properties, as well as basket-shaped storage compartments that sit within the legs of a stool or intersect table legs.
