Trim Tables: Contract Trend

All launched this year, these side tables each prove that less is more with simple round tops and thin metal frames.

Gubi_GamFratesi-TS Table_2

Designed by Danish-Italian duo GamFratesi, the TS tables were part of a new collection of furniture launched by Danish brand Gubi earlier this year. Available in three heights, the TS tables feature a black lacquered frame topped with a circular marble top in a choice of Bianco Carrara, Nero Marquina, Verde Guatemala or Marrone Emperador.

Ceramic-tables-by-Elisa-Strozyk

Elisa Strozyk‘s metal-framed tables feature round ceramic tops in different liquid glazes, which were mixed together by rotating each piece and blowing air across the surface. The swirling patterns are then fired and solidified in the kiln to create a glass-like finish.

Gilda-table-by-Eric-Jourdan_dezeen_1sq

The base of Eric Jourdan‘s Gilda table is made from two bent strips of steel while the circular top is made from ash or lacquered okoum© wood.

Neon_Coffee-Sebastian Herkner_Haymann Editions

Shown at Wanted Design in New York earlier this year, the Neon side tables by Sebastian Herkner for Haymann Editions sandwich together thin slices of onyx and neon acrylic. Available in four different sizes, the onyx marble is glued on the colored acrylic plate and than milled and sanded to a specific thickness.

Sidetable_JasperMorrison_SCP

Originally manufactured by SCP in 1986 and re-issued for 2014, the side table by Jasper Morrison is made from hand formed steel and glass, with brazed brass joints.
