These deep indigo, pleated lampshades by London-based studio James Plumb are made from a vintage burnished indigo fabric sourced from southeast China. The undulating design is inspired by the pleated skirts that the rare fabric is traditionally used to make.

The painterly ‘Watermark Tile’ Collection designed by Deborah Osburn for Tilevera is inspired by Japanese textile dying techniques. Introduced by online tile store cl©, the collection of hand crafted porcelain tiles is made using traditional indigo dye as well as gold verdigris, which morphs into a striking turquoise hue as the dye travels up the tile.

The ‘Indigo’ Collection from Donghia Furniture and Textiles features four fabrics - Yumihama, Shikoku, Kurume and Matsuyama – each named after regions in Japan that are famous for indigo and kasuri production. Inspired by this Japanese tradition, and the motifs associated with it, the textiles are created on modern looms with 100% cotton, denim yarns and synthetic indigo dyes.

The ‘Spitalfields' kitchen by British kitchen company Plain English is seen here painted in linen and indigo hues taken from the brand’s recent paint collaboration with Interior Decorator Adam Bray.
