Marble-Topped Tables: Contract Trend

Luxurious, beautiful and enduring, marble has enjoyed a resurgence in popularity in recent years. Thanks to new cutting technology, the monolithic material is now far easier to sculpt making larger production runs and more adventurous forms possible. These new side table designs show how designers are rediscovering this classic material, pairing it with wood, brightly colored metals and contemporary forms.

The Carve coffee table by British designer Bethan Gray features a generous marble top with a carved rim. The solid wood base with three turned legs is inspired by the traditional Welsh cricket table that has three legs, intended as a solution to uneven floors.
