Quite literally taking a laid back approach to furniture, these leaning consoles, shelves and desks rely on their surrounding walls for stability. By taking up less floor space, these two-legged designs are perfect for hotel rooms and residential projects that are short on square footage. 

Last month Danish brand Menu launched the Yeh Wall Table by Taiwanese designer Kenyon Yeh. Made with a powder coated steel top and tubular steel legs, the table top is partly folded upwards so that it sits flush against the wall.

Made in collaboration with Gautier Pelegrin, the Cloud console by Noble & Wood is a two tier wall supported console table that’s perfect for the entranceway or for use as a dressing table in the bedroom.

The Lean On desk by American brand Cond© House features a pull out tray for extending working space.

Raw Edges‘ Pivot desk for Arco combines a set of nesting drawers with a narrow integrated desk top that can be used as a desk or vanity.

As well as functioning as a ladder the rungs of the Ladder n°1 by Casimir Furniture extend backwards to create handy book cases and shelves.
