Loop to Loop

is a revolutionary new fabric made possible by a quartet of innovative companies. Global furniture company Steelcase, along with its subsidiary, the surface materials company Designtex, and Canadian textile manufacturer Victor, with Unifi, the maker of the recycled fiber REPREVE, joined forces in order to redirect and recycle textile waste: "Their collaboration could be understood as a chain of custody designed to return to itself, a closed loop system for capturing and recycling textile waste back into first-quality goods." The first product is Loop to Loop, an upholstery designed by Designtex and woven by Victor from Unifi yarn for use on Steelcase furniture.

The First Upholstery Made from Recycling Already Recycled Textile Waste

Loop to Loop is created from recycled content from within the textile industry: "Most of the collected cutting waste from Steelcase was already post-consumer recycled fabric made from PET water bottles, which was recycled again into the new polyester yarn within Loop to Loop." Better yet, the fabric is manufactured with its own future recycling in mind. This visionary product indeed illustrates what can be accomplished when companies work together to create sustainable materials.
