Vitra New York

Last week during NeoCon, for those who couldn’t make it to Vitra‘s booth at the show in Chicago, the Vitra showroom in New York showcased a selection of the brand’s new designs.

Vitra’s New York showroom showcased the ultimate in 21st century office design with new furniture by Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec and Alberto Meda.

New products on show included the modular Workbays by Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec -a ‘Meet and Retreat’ system, which redefines the working environment and breaks up the rigid planning grid of regular offices. These multifunctional Workbays offer employees the freedom to retreat to the environment which best suits the type of work they are doing.

Exhibited alongside the Workbays were the height-adjustable Tyde tables by Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec. While stand-up/sit-down tables are generally only available as single workstations, Tyde extends this concept to offer the benefits of working while standing and sitting to double workstations and conference tables.

Finally the Physix chair, originally launched in 2012, was also on display. Designed by Alberto Meda, the chair is an interplay of three elements to create a new dynamic sitting experience: a flexible frame construction, an elastic knit cover and a stabilising mechanism.
