Debuted at the Salone del Mobile in Milan last month, the Mirra 2 is a complete redesign of Herman Miller‘s best-selling Mirra work chair. Ten years after they designed the original in 2003, Berlin-based designers Studio 7.5 have revisited the design to update it for the modern working environment.

Studio 7.5’s Mirra 2 chair for Herman Miller is the latest advance in performance seating.

The new design retains the essence of the original, but updates the technology for the modern office; the result is a leaner, lighter, more responsive chair that moves as one with the sitter and dynamically supports even a person's slightest movements.

Studio 7.5 explain that the chair is "a reincarnation of Mirra. It feels reassuringly familiar because we maintained its soul and essential DNA, but we advanced the materialization and manifestation of this idea in virtually every aspect."

The new design ensures that the person and the chair move as one; the sitter can make all adjustments while seated, allowing instant feedback to fine-tune the fit to the individual.

The responsive Butterfly Backâ„¢ is made using a new method for merging a fabric layer with polymer veins to create an intelligent support structure. There are also new selections for textile and back colors.
