Milan 2013: Lighting Trend

Perfect circles were the shape of choice for lighting designs at the Salone del Mobile in Milan earlier this month. From wall to table lamps, minimalist geometry was a key trend.

London-based designers Studio Vit showcased these satellite-shaped floor and wall lamps as part of Salone Satellite. Made in matt ceramic, the spherical Globe lights cast light onto metal reflectors finished with gloss paint.

Part of Studio WM‘s new collection, Reflecting in Colour, the circular disc of this new table lamp functions as a reflective screen for the concealed LED light source in the base.

Netherlands-based designer Rachel Griffin of Earnest Studio created this set of modular tabletop elements called All of a Piece. Produced in marble, granite, and wood, the individual elements are connected by magnets and include a flat tray, a shallow bowl, a candleholder, an end cap, and a semi circle-shaped light that can be inserted inbetween the modules.
