Milan 2013: Kartell

Italian brand Kartell set its art director, Ferruccio Laviani, the task of designing its booth this year at the Salone del Mobile in Milan. Taking inspiration from Milanese luxury retail destination, the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele, Laviani created an impressive booth that was designed like a series of store windows.

Each display was dedicated to a particular designer and his or her new launches for 2013. Other windows had a particular theme, such as "Kartell à la mode", "Kartell Gifts", "Kartell Lights" and "Kartell Soft".

The biggest launch at the show was Philippe Starck's family of seating. Called Aunts and Uncles, the collection includes a sofa, armchair, chair, table and console. The pieces are made of transparent polycarbonate using single mould injection technology.
