Award-winning product designer David Fox has teamed up with office systems manufacturer Teknion to launch Versity, a line of single-, double- and triple-seat sofas and complementary tables for the contract furniture market.

The Versity line is one of several new workplace product lines launched by Teknion this year

With visual and ergonomic appeal in mind, Fox began the design with observations of tree branches. He sketched ideas of possible supporting structures that resembled a tree’s secondary branches, and researched how they could be integrated into the leg of a chair or sofa.

Constructed of die-cast aluminum, the legs lend the seating line a structural appearance. "Its reflective, polished nature draws emphasis to the sweeping curves and tapered stiletto-like aesthetic," said Fox in a press release.

"As workplace trends around the world-shrinking individual workstation size, more space devoted to communal activities, increased worker mobility and new technology-become more international in scope, we are excited to bring Teknion's innovative responses to Europe," said Terry McAllister, Teknion’s president of international markets.

Versity is available upholstered in fabric, leather, and COM. Click here to locate a dealer or here to download product specification files.
