LEMA Present the Atmospheres Collection at Salone de Mobile 2013

The annual furniture trade show in Milan, the Salone del Mobile 2013, is almost upon us. Italian furniture  manufacturer LEMA have announced that they will launch three new products at the show that re-imagine archetypal lounge chair, mirror and bookcase designs.

For its 2013 Atmospheres Collection, LEMA has worked with three exciting designers: Ferruccio Laviani, Tokujin Yoshioka and Raw Edges.

The pieces within the Atmospheres Collection are described as creating ‘different ways of thinking’ about furniture and how it functions.

Booken is a new bookshelf concept by Raw Edges that turns the traditional upright design on its side so that books can be ‘hung’ on the shelves. When full of books, the Booken shelf can also function as a table.

Japanese designer Tokujin Yoshioka has created the Mirage mirror; a modular design consisting of several reflecting surfaces that can be mounted at different angles.

The Popsi lounge chair by Ferruccio Laviani features an elegant metallic base and a generously-proportioned leather seat.  The seams of the upholstery exaggerate the seat’s organic form and create a pleasing contrast with the angular base.
