Meta-fora by Agata Monti for Adele-C

Part of the Sign Collection by Adele-C, the furniture company recently founded by Adele Cassina, daughter of famed Italian designer Cesare Cassina, Meta-fora is a table/wall divider designed by Agata Monti. This versatile conversation piece helps create a truly multifunctional space, dividing a room into useful and versatile parts.

Contemporary Italian Table/Wall Divider Transforms Contract Spaces

Constructed of multilayer okoume wood stained with a natural oil finish, Meta-fora is always in the process of becoming—hence the name. As much a room divider as a work station, Meta-fora is also a dining table, conference room, media center, wall, and closet.

The table slides into the wall divider. When it’s completely tucked away, one side of Meta-fora offers a wall, while the other side delivers a table; and at 300 cm long (almost 10 feet), the surface is a place where you can dine or draft, nibble or network. Slide the table to its halfway point and you get a dual office: two people can work on either side, with the wall creating privacy and personal space. The wall also secrets several shelves and drawers where you can keep anything from files and blueprints to books and magazines. If Meta-fora is used in retail or hospitality venues, that space can hold clothes and towels instead.
