Wall Flowers: Green Trend

With space at a premium, designers in urban settings are looking for ways to add sustainable vegetated elements to their projects without compromising usable area in hotels, offices, and public facilities. These wall-mounted elements offer some air quality-improving ways to get back to nature without a lot of acreage:

Moss Tile, Benetti Stone, green wall

MossTile by Benetti Stone: Made with moss that remains stable over time in environments with 50 percent humidity, MossTile is a maintenance free garden available in twelve colors on a resin tile base. The product can be used alone or in combination with other Benetti products.

Shift_Design, Parkside, green wall

Parkside living wall by Shift_Design: The Philadelphia-based company manufactures urban garden products with a green manufacturing model that uses low transportation distances and recycled/recyclable content. The Parkside Living Wall can be installed individually or in groups.

Urbio, modular, green wall

Urbio: A new product for indoor vertical gardens and modular storage solutions, Urbio is a system of lightweight vessels made of polypropylene that affix to powder-coated wall plates with magnets. The quickly expanding company is considering adding to its color options (currently, the system comes in white) this year.

Arik Levy, Flora, Comb-ination, trellis

Comb-ination by Flora: Arik Levy’s design is a hive-like modular structure that can be used alone or as a full-wall trellis indoors or out. The system is made of zinc-plated sheet metal, powder-coated black.

Deesawat, Green Wall

Green Wall by Deesawat: Designed to improve oxygen and humidity levels indoors, the modular system of wooden shelves comes in a range of sizes and in flat and curved models.
