New additions to the Palomba Collection by Laufen

Milanese architects Ludovica+Roberto Palomba have added a new selection of fittings to their existing bathroom line for Swiss brand Laufen.

The organic forms of the self titled Palomba collection are inspired by tide pools and the water that collects in the smooth cavities of coastal rocks.

The new pieces include a new freestanding washbasin called Menhir, a dramatically contoured bathtub with a high back, four new countertop washbasins, two washbasin bowls and a new bathroom furniture collection.

Ludovica+Roberto Palomba explain the inspiration behind the expressive organic forms of the new pieces: “Palomba Collection 2012 is a synthesis of organic and natural forms. Its inspiration comes from coastal inlets and cliffs; from observing the action of the sea against the rocks.”

In contrast the new accompanying bathroom furniture features straight edges and perfect geometry. The furniture collection includes vanity units, which are optionally available with atmospheric illumination, one tall and one medium cabinet, two console tops and cube and cuboid-shaped storage modules.

The vanity units and cabinets are available in white, Putty grey, light wild pear and dark Vermont cherry while the storage modules come in white, Putty grey, red cranberry and blue aqua. The modules offer practical storage and can be stacked or lined up in a row or arranged into a grid allowing them to fit to any bathroom space. The rear walls of the modules are available in orange, red, light wild pear, dark Vermont cherry or in a mirror version.
