The cladding has inherent thermal insulation qualities that can reduce energy use in some projects

Galiotto’s other recent work includes a one-man exhibition dedicated to his stone design projects at the Stonetech fair in Beijing and publication of Raffaello Galiotto. Digital design and stone materiality, by Veronica Dal Buono, a researcher at Ferrara University Faculty of Architecture.

Part of the company’s Drappi di Pietra collection, Foulard is designed with a series of folds and waves to create a surface with complex shapes but relatively fast installation on a vertical surface with the company’s clipping system. The blocks’ shapes minimize waste during production while creating the appearance of a complex surface. Tiles are available in arrara ghiaccio, beige canapa, and pietra serena in 60-centimeter squares and 8 1/2-centimeter thickness.

About the Manufacturer: For 30 years Lithos Design has manufactured modular partitions and claddings made to create designer walls rendered unique by the natural unrepeatability of each stone, whose singular characteristics are emphasised and enhanced in the skillful cutting, machining and shaping processes. Each model is devised in Lithos Design laboratory, where the idea is developed through tests, trials, and errors.
