Sidekick Stool by Timothy John for Thanks

New Zealand-based brand Thanks has launched its first ever furniture design in the form of a cork and wire stool called Sidekick by Mt. Maunganui-based furniture designer Timothy John.

A highly functional, light and unimposing stool made with a simple wire frame and cork seat.

Available in black or white, Sidekick is inspired by the silhouette of a glass science beaker, with its wire frame resembling a 3D line drawing of a beaker’s form.

Not only does the cork seat mimic the cork stopper commonly found on laboratory beakers, but it is also warm, smooth and velvety to the touch. Cork also possesses excellent impermeable, buoyant, non-allergenic and fire resistant properties.

About the manufacturer: Thanks is a fashion/street-wear brand based in New Zealand. As well as an online store, Thanks has three physical stores across New Zealand; one in Mt Maunganui, one in Tauranga and one in Napier.
