When Spanish outdoor furniture company asked renowned British desginer Jasper Morrison to design a collection for them, they set him with a very difficult task. Kettal wanted Morrison to produce a collection that would sum up the brand’s 47 year history in a single collection.
Simple, sophisticated and serene, Park Life is a complete family of outdoor furniture that displays all the hallmarks of Jasper Morrison’s trademark style.
Morrison and Kettal kicked off the process by examining the historical codes that characterise garden furniture and then set out the technical and functional specifications that were required. Morrison, known for his pared-down, essential and simple approach to design, has created a highly functional and clean cut collection of 17 pieces that the Kettal describes as “a range that encapsulates the history of garden furniture in a way that is both contemporary and lasting.”
Made of aluminum, electro-paint, light stone, leather and porotex fabric, the collection is lightweight, yet extremely durable. It can be stacked for transport or winter storage and its technical sophistication and careful consideration of ergonomics ensure that Park Life is tough enough to withstand many years of use, both structurally and visually.
