Bistro by Daniel Figueroa for Loewenstein
November 02, 2012
The crowning glory of Daniel Figueroa’s new Bistro chair for Loewenstein
is it’s elegant and organically shaped backrest. Its perfect, real wood veneer curve is only made possible through the use of new 3D Veneer technology.
Light and easy to handle, Bistro effortlessly completes a wide range of interior architecture and furnishings.
By taking real wood veneer and cutting it into patented micro strips or “fingers”, 3D Veneer is able to bend and form into curvaceous 3 dimensional shapes that would not otherwise be possible with regular wood veneer. The real wood veneer featured on Bistro’s backrest are layered and pressed into 3 dimensional ply form, creating its unique shape with all the characteristics inherent in natural wood.
In spite of its minimal thickness, Bistro’s exquisite workmanship and use of top quality materials ensure that it is extremely resilient and meets the application requirements in bistros and restaurants, offices and reception environments. Meanwhile, the upholstered inner surface and the shaping of the integrated armrests provide superior comfort. The frame is made in polished chrome and backrest veneer options include oak, walnut and beech with a variety of fabric choices.
