Meaning Featherlight in Dutch, Vederlicht is the name given by designer Daniel Hulsbergen to this new, model glider-inspired pendant lamp design. 

A lightweight pendant lamp that plays with light through its open structure and layers of translucent white Oracover

Weighing in at just 350 grams, Vederlicht’s open structure is made from lightweight balsa wood and Oracover; the same materials that are used to craft model airplanes. Hulsbergens explains, “Vederlicht is a fascination that I had when I was a small child, the fascination of model glider plane. Back then these planes cost too much for me to buy and I only could look at them in the shop. The small kid in me is still there so I took the technique and material for making a glider and used it to design lighting. The material used in this design is balsa wood and Oracover which is used to cover the wings of a glider and gives the lamp altogether it's ultra lightweight."

The lamp measures 31.5″ in height and 23.5″ in diameter. Prices are available on request.
