David Fox’s Hendrix Chair for Atelier de Berenn

David Fox’s Hendrix Chair for Atelier de Berenn

“The Jacksons, Hendrix, and Kravitz have all sported at some time the classic microphone hairdo,” writes designer David Fox, who used this inspiration to create the new Hendrix chair for Turkish manufacturer Atelier de Berenn.

The chair will be shown for the first time this week at international office design fair Orgatec

In his design, Fox paid special attention to “how the fringe meets the face in a well-balanced, ordered manor” in the ‘dos of those legendary rockers, creating a unique seam where the chair’s headrest meets its body. A high-back version is ideal for lounge spaces, with a rounded headrest that provides users some privacy. A four-star, laser-formed steel base swivels and creates a wine glass-shaped base for the chair’s molded foam body.

Hendrix will make its premiere this week at Orgatec in Cologne alongside its smaller brother, a compact side chair named Jackson.
