Francesc Rifé’s Ka Island Vanity for Inbani

Just two short months ago, fellow 3rings blogger Sonja Hall wrote of the slim and sleek stylings of the Ka Modular Bathroom Collection for Inbani by Francesc Rifé. This line of vanities and integrated basins shone so very brightly, not only for its contemporary color palette of white, silvers, and shiny chrome, but also for its interplay between the overt linearity of the vanities and the smooth organicism of the basins.

A Stunning Addition to Inbani’s Ka Line

Now, Rifé and Inbani have taken the concept one step further. The latest addition to the collection is the Ka Island Vanity concept and double-sided mirror, perched atop the resin-based surface with all the daring aplomb of a snow white swan, its plumage resplendent in the morning sun.

Of course, the reflective metaphors unfurl ever so naturally from both sides of this beautiful dual mirror. Just so, Rifé’s latest not only evokes the majestic bird above, but also the shimmering sheen of a crystal clear lake.

Yes, the piece is a bit of a stunner—both for its unorthodox orientation and the implicit wow factor of an oversized dual-sided mirror, but Ka comes with perks that exceed the initial jaw dropper of the innovative aesthetic.

The principal functional allure is the re-contextualization of space, as an island vanity opens up multitudes of possibilities with respect to room arrangement. The Ka Island Vanity thus holds special appeal for the daring and the bold—for those with the desire and wherewithal to dance about the boudoir, as it were. There’s also the special perk of the two-sided mirror, which means no more jostling for the best view.

Inbani offers several incarnations of Rifé’s floating island vanity and two-sided mirror, including a pendant mirror or counter-top-mounted version and rectangular or circular basins.

About the Manufacturer: How does manufacturer Inbani stay on the leading edge of bathroom design? By investing precious resources in their R&D arm: “To be in the vanguard of design with current trends, materials and new technologies… to give functionality and technology to the product.” Though Inbani is a relatively young company, they’ve already earned the cache of collaborating with such iconic designers as Arik Levy, Francesc Rifé, and Sergio Rochas.
