Dynamic Study of Color and Movement: Vivid Wallpaper Collection by Trove for Knoll Textiles

Winner of a NeoCon Silver Award in 2012, the Vivid Collection by New York-based design firm Trove for Knoll Textiles features organic movement in a very graphic, large scale print. The resulting three patterns of the Vivid Collection—Swoosh, Sway, and Swerve—illustrate the delicate and artistic work of the “distinctly Trove vocabulary”.

After seeing Trove’s wallcoverings at a trade show, Knoll Textiles approached the studio to create a collection that would showcase Trove’s “ethereal quality” and kinetic flair. Available in 15 colorways, the Vivid Collection features Swoosh, a painterly pattern “evocative of a bird in flight”; Sway, a linear design that “pulls colors across the page”; and Swerve, a metaphysical study of freeform circles.

Printed on an innovative non-vinyl Type II substrate, which is new to the contract marketplace, papers in the Vivid Collection are composed of 69% cellulose and polyester, and 31% recycled polyester, a material that contributes to good indoor air quality.

About the Manufacturer: Founded in 2006 in New York City, Trove offers a line of wallcoverings that play with scale and repeat. Grounded in creative applications of original art, Trove principals Randall Buck and Jee Levin base their wallcoverings on their very own original photographs, drawings, and paintings. The line includes traditional wallpapers, but also inventive new forms for wallcoverings, not limited to wood veneer and printed window film.
