Growing up, I took piano lessons from our church organist. While she was a very nice lady and an excellent pianist, teaching kids may not have been her forté as she was quite serious about her line of work. Looking back on that now, I’m very grateful there are people in the world who take music this seriously since I cherish those who take design without the “grain of salt” like the rest of us.

A Bold, Modern Chandelier in Brass Tube Design

“Back to art deco and again with musical inspiration, this time through the dramatic pipe organ,” begins the design statement that describes the Brubeck suspension lamp by Delightfull. Just like my old piano teacher, it’s brilliant and brassy look is intriguing but definitely not playful. The sculptural creation that is the Brubeck makes me want to learn a really difficult musical instrument and go on to become a master at it.

Same goes for lighting design – after gazing at the Brubeck as it hangs over a dining table, I’d love to dive into chandelier design that takes months to perfect. As Delightfull says, the Brubeck “is an instant classic sculptural design. An extravagant shape full of refinement and modernity.” Created out of 100% handmade brass tubes, like a trumpet or trombone, the fixture can come in a round, oval, square or rectangular shape.
