Industrial Interiors: Adhoc Storage by Bruno Fattorini & Partners for Zanotta

Derived from the industrial revolution of 1750 to 1850 that we first learned about in high school history class, the word “industrial” is an adjective we now use loosely to describe everything from economies to the look of an efficient design of a building or furnishing. To take it a step further, industrial designers like Bruno Fattorini & Partners get creative with the idea and create pieces of modern furniture like the Adhoc storage system for Zanotta.

The Industrial Adhoc Storage Design by Zanotta Accomplishes Beauty with Strength

Since 2009, Bruno Fattorini & Partners has consisted of their designers, industrial designers, and visual experts from the original Bruno Fattorini team and that of Robin Rizzini. The infusion of the industrial look into their interior furniture designs is evident in appearance alone, but also in the innovative idea behind each design. Like in Adhoc, the special compass opening solution is a patent-pending fold-away door that works elegantly within the storage system. Without a “lateral encumbrance, which further minimizes the layout of the containers”, the unit as a whole epitomizes contemporary.

Made out of steel sheets, the Adhoc storage unit is a modular system of drawers and sliding, fold-away doors with the option of open shelving. A dash of bold color can be seen from outside the solid white exterior and act as a bright, saturated contrast to the otherwise purposeful and definitely industrial aesthetic.

Take the unit apart for side tables and nightstands or keep it tall and solid for large piece of driven residential design to storage your worldly possessions and admire its stately, glossy white, and larger-than-life presence.
