Healthier Sleep with Non-Toxic, Organic, Green Tea-Treated Bio-Foam
Besides their longevity, Keetsa mattresses offer a whole host of characteristics that make sleep healthier. They use CertiPUR-US® approved high density foam, which is an extension of the European CertiPUR program developed in 2002 by EUROPUR, the association of European flexible polyurethane foam block manufacturers. This voluntary program tests foam for durability, performance, and content. Mattress covers use hemp blend fabrics and certified organic cotton which is not dyed or bleached, since “the bleaching process exposes the materials to chemicals.” For their memory foam mattresses, Keetsa uses Bio-foam™, a new type of memory foam in all of their mattresses - like the Keetsa Plus or the Tea Leaf Surpreme, among other favorites - that replaces a portion of the petroleum oil with castor bean oil, a natural plant oil. And in lieu of toxic fire retardants, Keetsa uses 100% wool padding as a fire barrier, which is non-toxic. As if this wasn’t enough in the way of green details, Keetsa adds Green Tea Extract into their Bio-Foam formula—a powerful anti-oxidant that also smells great “without the use of chemical deodorizers.”
A good night of sleep also depends on your conscience—and here Keetsa can help. Their mattresses are compressed for packaging and shipping, which reduces your shipping cost and carbon footprint. Keetsa also uses 100% recyclable boxes printed with water-soluble ink, not to mention biodegradable plastic bags. And thanks to the company’s self-supportive mattresses, you don’t need a box spring: “We believe box springs are another form of waste for the environment,” explains Keetsa.
