The Filmore Lounge Series by John Stafford & Chris Carter for DARRAN

I’ve always been interested in the stories of last names. Especially if they’re commonly used as a street. While Washington and Wilson are obvious examples, our poor 13th U.S. President Millard Fillmore gets confused with the origin being “The Fillmore” concert venue in San Francisco (located on Fillmore Street) or with the Fillmore! animated series by Walt Disney in the early 2000’s that bears no association to either. With a surname also serving as the idea behind a modular set of ganging chairs, the Filmore Lounge series by DARRAN Furniture Industries earns prestige in the contract design world as well, (but with just one ‘l’).

Versatile Curves of Chair, Table and Bench Keeps the Filmore a Solid Ganging Set

Instead of relying upon stick straight chairs with all right angles, the Filmore seeks to spread out in a different way. By ganging the chairs, benches, tables, and other modular components together, the lounge or waiting area becomes a comfortable haven with a serpentine quality. The contract quality of the club chairs, one arm chairs, armless chairs, benches, tables and ottomans come with a hardwood frame with mortise and tenon constructed joints. For additional support, the winding seating is sprung with no-sag sinuous springs for an everlasting bounce beneath.

Connect armless chairs with arched tables for a round design or continue the modular current of Filmore fashion with an infinite line of chair, table and bench combinations. All of the designs offered by the Filmore Lounge series are “perfect for office, educational, and health care environments” boasts the proud manufacturer. Without needing a wall to back up against, the armless chairs with horizontal back designs can also come equipped with a tablet arm for library use or common area study sessions.
