Coalesse’s SW_1 Conference Tables Change the Nature of Collaboration
Designed by Scott Wilson and Minimal, the SW_1 Conference Tables follow that designer’s particular proclivities for live/work ensembles, for furnishings that beckon like a lounge yet function like a well-oiled machine.
SW_1 is actually an entire suite of office furniture, including conference tables, occasional tables, work tables, lounge chairs, and conference chairs, yet the ensemble’s piece de resistance is the new low conference table. The lower profile of same not only enhances intimacy, thereby making conversations more productive, but also increases user comfort.
The latter is partially owed to the slightly more casual atmosphere created by a lower table, but also to the ease with which users can accommodate themselves to the work surface: “Gone is the restrictiveness of most conference seating... users collaborate naturally, freed from the shoulder-to-shoulder formation of most conference rooms.”
A bevy of accessory features further enhance SW_1’s trademark blend of comfort and collaboration: the projecting tablet arms enable easy access to laptops; the central wire manager grommet organizes unsightly cordage; and an integrated power pod coordinates laptop and phone cords.
About the Manufacturer: Just as the name implies, manufacturer Coalesse is the millennial answer to the merging of life and work. The company recognizes that the line between the two is increasingly blurred. Just so, consumers want work furnishings that they can live with (and in), and Coalesse creates them. The company’s product line includes everything from conference tables to lounge chairs, wardrobes to lecterns. But beyond a mere product line, Coalesse is a philosophy for a new age: “Coalesse is a cause. It’s a belief in the solution, more than in the object. It’s a belief that experiences matter and space should be inspiring.”
