Artistically Designed Custom Rug Creations
Introduced at the Museum of Art and Design in New York, the rug collection is more than museum worthy. The two artists worked together to create an aesthetically striking and customizable collection exploring color, texture and new manufacturing techniques. The new BB&E rugs use a hand-tufted manufacturing technique and are offered in New Zealand wool and viscose options; whereas the studio traditionally employs Tibetan wool and fine silk. The process and new fabrics allow a faster production time and cost savings.
Bennett Bean Studio specializes in completely custom rugs but with the benefit of a successful artist’s trained eye. Bean and Rand work with clients to ensure the proper size, color and material are specified for each project. The rugs feature superior craftsmanship, and are handmade in Kathmandu, Nepal and two small villages outside of New Delhi and Varanasi in India.
About the Manufacturer: Bennett Bean is best known for his ceramic art but it was an encounter with a vintage Tibetan rug that inspired him to create custom rugs. With an eye for subtle but striking color and pattern, The Bennett Bean Studio is focused on creating designer rug collections.
