The Sway Embroider Series by Carnegie Fabrics

The thing about textiles, no matter how high the thread count is, or how durable the fabric may be, it’s ultimately subject to tearing. While this isn’t of great concern in a residential application (unless you’ve got a terrible two-year-old), it is a frequent problem in healthcare. But Carnegie’s Sway Embroider series all but banishes this concern.

Each of the fabrics in the Sway Embroider Series is made of Carnegie’s patented Xorel fiber. A polyethylene product used for all manner of surface applications, Xorel is one continuous strand. This means its manufacture involves no weaving so it can’t be torn.

An eco-friendly synthetic, Xorel is pvc-free. It’s cradle-to-cradle certified for ecological performance by MBDC, and it’s recognized as an Indoor Advantage Gold product by SCS. Since it’s a synthetic, stains don’t penetrate and it’s thus quite easy to clean.

All of the above makes the Sway Embroider Series ideally suited for healthcare—you’re sure to find this high-performance suite gracing the walls and furnishings of many a patient room, doctor’s office, and hospital vestibule. But just because it’s durable enough for the venue doesn’t mean it looks like it: Sway Embroider is a subtly elegant pattern featuring an intersecting network of lithe, wispy lines along the length of an earth-toned background. Colors include a calming cream, a sedate charcoal, and a soothing sage.
