Inspired by Nature: Shanghai Extendible Glass Table by Tonin casa

Part of the Novitá collection from Italian furniture manufacturer Tonin casa, the Shanghai extendible glass table balances practicality and artfulness. With an organically shaped base that calls to mind a leaf or wave, the table relies on its sculptural quality, “suitable for those who appreciate a fine and ageless design.” Shanghai uses a central aluminum guide bar to make the table work its magic, allowing the tempered glass top to lengthen at either end—a great solution for dinner parties that grow unexpectedly in number (this happens to good hosts and good cooks—you know who you are).

The base comes in shining white, shining beige, and shining anthracite, so Shanghai can blend in with any color scheme. The white base works in a monochromatic scheme, as does the black. Or the pops of light and dark can offer a nice complement to color. The beige blends in with earthy hues. The guide bar is available in matte white lacquered aluminum or polished or anodized aluminum.
