Blooming Canadians! The Bloom Collection by MTH Woodworks

Canadians unite! Vancouver designers Tanja Hinder and Michael Thomas Host of MTH Woodworks have created the Bloom collection with the use of John Ross Design’s rustic wood bases. The Bloom collection was recently exhibited at IDS West in Vancouver, Canada. IDS West is a yearly residential interior design show that started in 2004.

The Bloom Collection is a series of coffee tables and side tables that are cast from solid resin made from peanuts and soybeans. The modern tops display a section cut of the salvaged wood base which looks like an applied pattern instead of an integral base. Each base has been salvaged by John Ross Design. Based on Vancouver Island, John Ross creates simple coffee tables, side tables and lamps from a variety of reclaimed woods that are “cast off by the mainstream.” The chosen wood pieces range from simple in shape to age sculpted bases that are unbelievably complex in section. MTH Woodworks combines the rustic Cedar stumps with modern materials which results in a clean, organic design. The choice of a neutral white tops accentuates the beauty of the wood. The tables are heat, stain, chemical, mold and mildew resistant.
