It’s elegance is created using a CNC-milled and lacquered plywood that comes in your choice of black, white, or wood finishes. Miso Soup Design is based in Barcelona, Spain and led by Daisuke Nagatomo & Minnie Jan. They are a team of two architects and have worked together since their New York City inception, back in 2004. The incredible duo approaches architecture from their two bases in Tokyo and Barcelona. As previously mentioned, their names may ring a bell with those of you who keep up on sustainable innovation. As USGBC LEED-accredited professionals, they were selected to serve as researches for Solar Decathlon Europe 2010 that took place at the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia, in their base city of Northern Spain.

They have said that dedicating their practice to researching material property, systematic strategy, and re-evaluate functionality keeps them aware of the direct connection between environment, limited resources, and the concept of their design (that) constantly incorporates new ideas with minimal wasted materials. Knowing of the MisoSoupDesign passion for the earth and art, Lerival – a design house represented by some of the best architects – produces the graceful curves of the Kulms Chair 01 with the same enthusiasm for its longevity in your home as we have for the planet.
