MH Furniture Collection. Designed by Bordonabe.
And the MH Collection is designed by Catalonian favorite son Francesc Rifé, whose work we’ve seen previously with the slim and super-fine Nord Collection of task chairs. So it’s no surprise that MH expands on the Spanish cosmopolitan theme. The modular collection of desktops, office tables, and supporting cabinetry is long and lean and enticingly rectilinear. It certainly celebrates the unbounded potentiality of negative space.
And MH has a high functionality quotient as well. Bordonabe says the collection “allows workstations to be extended without overloading the available space… it also gives the furniture a solid structure without taking anything away from the surrounding architecture.” This combination of flexibility, solidity, and breathing room is appealing in an office, where even the most intrepid of workers often need to stand up and take a deep, relaxing breath. MH’s color scheme reinforces the spare aesthetic. The collection comes in monochrome tints of black and white—very cool and contemporary, and ideal when the backdrop includes lovely architectural features like exposed brick, rich deep grains of wood, or the industrial chic of rough-edged cinder blocks.
