The world’s douches and their dirty pick up lines can officially get lost. There’s a new douche in town that stands outside patiently, is grounded in strong value, and desires to shower you with clean lines. It’s called the Delta outdoor shower (douche de jardin) and was designed by Inga Sempé, a strong Parisian woman who understands quality.
Delta. Designed by Inga Sempé for Tectona.
In her latest creation for the French company, Tectona, she bent an inox tube and added a large circular showerhead to make washing off an absolute pleasure. In Inga Sempé’s own words, she says her goal during the development of an outdoor system was “to design a shower that can integrate into any type of landscape, and which is sufficiently light, visually speaking, so as not to break up the view”.
To ensure its stability, the solid teak wood base of the shower should be fixed to a hard surface using a kit that is included with the outdoor lavation. The Delta design comes after working with numerous Italian, French, and Scandinavian companies to produce furniture, clocks, packaging, storage, and wall stickers to name a few.
The tall, swooping neck of the shower reaches 235 cm (or 92.5 inches) and the base measures 90 cm x 90 cm (35.4 inches x 35.4 inches). The water temperature and pressure is adjusted with a simple lever at the intersection of the neck to the pipe base. Like other outdoor showers, the Delta can be left exposed for a rapid sand or chlorine rinse, or enclosed for a more private experience.
Whatever your preference, you can stay at home and shower in peace with a Delta, practicing the occasional bird song response (instead of going to out to ignore the idiocracy of the everyday douche).
