At Salone del Mobile: Mozzarella Chair by Tatsuo Yamamoto

and Jun Hashimoto – two Japanese designers working under the platform “Books” – have come to Salone Internazionale del Mobile this year with a few pieces exploding into the scene. One in particular is a chair that the trendiest furniture fashion bloggers in the world have been tagging and posting onto hundreds of sites just a few days after its release. Rightly so, the Mozzarella Chair traveled across the world to find itself in the mecca of the fresh buffalo milk enriched cheese with the Italians (and other cheese-adoring furniture admirers) flocking to understand how they have managed to design a chair as comforting as the famous formaggio.

Unlike many furniture pieces, the Mozzarella Chair takes us deep into thoughts of a fresh caprese salad while dining on a terrace in Tuscany, and has made it impossible to accurately articulate un-edible materials in the present state. Thankfully, Yamamoto has listed the simple ingredients to the Mozzarella Chair on his website that describe it as a frame made from 2mm thick stainless steel with a smooth and soft-textured fabric stretch woven fabric. The size is 620 cm H x 810 cm W x 750 cm.
