Salone 2025: Library of Light by Es Devlin
To celebrate Euroluce, Salone del Mobile commissioned a tome of an installation at the Pinacoteca di Brera museum. British artist and designer Es Devlin created an illuminated revolving library inspired by a quote from writer Umberto Eco: “Books are the compass of the mind, they point to countless worlds yet to be explored.”

The kinetic display—one might call it a dream library—measures 18 meters in diameter (approximately 59 feet). Illuminated bookshelves display 3,200 books.

Inside the courtyard, Library of Light will reflect the sun’s rays. At night, the luminous sculpture will cast otherworldly shadows.

Check out the Library of Light from 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. at the Pinacoteca di Brera. Entrance is free. If you want to send us your best photo, email 3rings@designerpages.com.
