BIFMA LEVEL 2 Awarded to HÅG Capisco

When last we reported on HÅG Capisco and HÅG Capisco Puls, the innovative and ergonomic chairs from 9 to 5 Seating had achieved BIFMA LEVEL 1 certification.

Some five months down the road and 9 to 5 is proud to announce that the line has now been awarded BIFMA LEVEL 2: “the preferred sustainability standard for the General Services Administration (GSA), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and the state of California.”

Given that state’s emphasis on sustainable practices and environmental responsibility, this is no small achievement, as the certification recognizes the design team’s focus on sustainability throughout the entire development process—from concept to research to production.

In conferring the certification, BIFMA not only examined the recycled content, material efficiency, chemical make-up, and greenhouse gas impact of the product, but also its overall environmental credentials throughout the entire products cycle, including its end-of-life disassembly and re-integration into the materials stream.
