Sugatsune has revolutionized hardware for vertical-opening units and cabinetry with the Aileron Lid Stay Hinge System.

This nifty bit of engineering performs exactly as the name implies: foolproof hinge staying that supports the lids of chests, toy boxes, trunks, counter flaps, and desk lids— “Any kind of lid or flap that opens through a vertical plane and needs to be supported to stay open.”

Aileron thus eliminates the need for unsightly support arms that can make movement awkward and sometimes cause pinched fingers.
